Heavy: the sory of metal and its lack of mentioning Death and Black Metal
Dear VH1Classic,
Iam upset that in the documentary Heavy: The Story of Metal that it does not mention the Death or Black Metal genres. I am appalled is that instead of focusing on how Thrash evolved into the Death, Black and Metalcore genres, it focuses on Nu Metal, which really is more mixture of Grunge of the early 90s and Rap/Hip- Hop of the same decade. What gets me is that they didn't even attempt touch on those genres nor does ot mention any big names like Morbid Angel, Entombed, Cannibal Corpse or Suffocation, thus implying as if it was forbidden fruit. If your going to do a documentary on music in general and Heavy Metal in particular, it is important to cover all bases and genres and not be so prissy and nignore them as if they never existed, which we metalheads know does exist.
