Graham, are you even on the right post? Sounds almost
    like a "best concerts" reply.

you should really check them out especially the "Marquee Moon" album. The first time i heard it i was blown away.Great stoner rock that at times comes off as a concept album but isnt. Give the the roots of "punk" a try. There are some really good rock n roll bands. Unfortunatley its a little misunderstood, and when most people think of the genre they think of the hardcore scene wich is a different beast altogether.

I've never heard a song by Television, although I know
they were a founding "CBGBs" band. (God bless Hilley Crystal).

The Ramones are amazing for sure. Unfortunatly "punk rock" is such an umbrella term that alot of bands that dont really fit in to that genre were throw in.Television is one of those bands. I would strongly recomend you trying out the song "Your gonna miss me "by the 13th floor elevators though tht is if you like dirty 60's garage bands I cant seem to make you min by the seeds is also a good one it was recently featured in the Axe comercials. Or check out a the Nuggets compilations they have some amazing 60s bands on there, that have been forgotten. They recently re released all of the compilatiosn so they are not hard to find on the internet or on cd now ...defenetly worth it.

Thanks Nightmare. My only real "Punk" knowledge is the Ramones
(who I think are the best punk band) and the Sex Pistols. I know
some say the Clash are punk but I never did.

    nope and nope
most of these bands had charted songs in the states.Except for the ungly ducklings and mother tuckers yellow duck and the screamers. The ducklings and mother are candian bands that have a big following here. The screamers on the other hand is the first california punk band. The rest are from all over the states from seatle to Idaho(and everything in between). Youve probably heard most of these bands on comercials or in movies but just havent put a name of the band to a song. . Sides isnt that fun of music? Finding new bands to check out ? thats one of the reasons I posted,I thought maybe someone out there listened to bands i havent heard of and im always looking for new stuff. By the way you didnt sound mean you were jsut asking a question, nothing wrong with that ok

Nightmare I don't mean this to sound mean, but did you make up
the names of 7 out of 10 of your bands? I've been rockin well over
30 years and most of your bands I've never heard of. Let me guess:
95% of your list is punk or influenced punk, and most were unheard
of outside of, let's say, New York city?
