What makes a one hit wonder?
Several times on One Hit Wonders (VH1 Classic and Billboard Magazine) I have seen A-Ha listed as well as Quiet Riot.  I know both of them had more than one hit.  A-Ha had a song on the Radio and a video for "The Sun Always Shines on TV"   Quiet Riot also had the same for  "Heavy Metal (Bang Your Head)"  Both groups had each of these songs on the radio as well as a video on tv.  So why are they considered one hit wonders?

that is so true ., in reality if it doesn't crack into the Billbaord charts it isn't even considered.
The song itself has to be catchy with good beat .
and generally the whole public needs to like it being able to draw fans from other types of music....

A song needs more than an occasional playing on the radio or MTV, it has to be requested and purchased. In many cases follow-up songs are a big let down for the fans that only like hits, not bands or genres. Therefore, many songs that true fans think are hits are in fact not. I believe that a song must reach the top 25 to be truly a hit.
