Just finished listening to "Sonic Boom" in it's entirety,and have to say IT'S GREAT!!! They have recaptured the sound and feel of their earlier years.... Which is a GOOD THING!!!

Any thoughts on Ace Frehley's "Anomoly" CD??

Sonic Boom at the top of the Billboard Rock Albums chart for the current week! Sonic Boom is also the #1 album on Billboard's Hard Rock and Independent charts!
Making this their highest US charting album ever! LEGENDS NEVER DIE!!!

I wish to comment on the new Kiss album. It Has a classic vibe to it. Its a great album, but, the problem with this album is that Tommy tries to act and play like Ace Frehley and that is not something that die hard kiss fan wants to hear. If Tommy is going to be around to play for Gene and Paul , then he should have his own style of lead. This album sounds like Rock'n'Roll Over meets Revenge. Ace should be on Thats Metal Show one week and Gene and paul the next week or so. And Ace Frehleys new album is alot better than the Kiss new release. But I do hope that Kiss continues to rule the rock world as far as a live show. No band can comepete with them. Any comments on this. And I hope that the producers of That Metal Show takes my advice and have both and former mebers of the band on the show soon to have there comments.

Yeah, but some bands try to change their sound because they are getting older, and it just doesn't WORK FOR THEM! Some bands change to try to keep up with the times, but alot of the music nowadays except for the heavier stuff kinda blows, but I'll wait to hear the new KISS stuff before I actually give an opinion on it!

I agree about the new KISS being a new & different beast nowadays. I also don't like seeing Tommy Thayer & Eric Singer wearing the classic make-up of The Catman & The Spaceman. But I give the devils their due for continuing to make great Hard Rock music in the 21st Century. I am a fan of many bands that have had their share of lineup changes (Deep Purple, Sabbath etc..) and yes it does change the sound & style & live performances of certain bands, but if a band is out there year after year giving it their all & playing great tunes & recording great new music , I'm not gonna say they should do this or don't do that... Who the heck am I to tell Gene Simmons or Paul Stanley who should be in the band or what they should be playing or sounding like? They know better than anyone else what KISS is & what it means to be a member of KISS...
I'm a 40 year old New York Rock & Roller and I've been a faithfull member of the Kiss Army since I was about 9 years old & I think they still are a great and monumental & legendary & amazing original band from NYC.
... I would like to say I think it would be cool & kinda funny if Peter & Ace got together and started their own new group to rival the new version of KISS! ha ha ha!-Now wouldn't that be something! ha ha ha!
Also, I wanna say I think Tommy Thayer is a very, very great axe player. But I am curious why Bruce Kulick ain't in KISS these days. Perhaps he didn't wanna do the whole makeup thing? But I guess it don't matter because I'm sure Tommy Thayer is gonna be playing some really hot leads on the next KISS album.
... I know Eric Singer is an awesome drummer. I've seen him live several times with Alice Cooper and I dig his drumming on KISS' REVENGE album & CARNIVAL OF SOULS. He's one heavy friggin' drummer.
The next KISS album is gonna be tremendous!!! I just know it. How can it not be? It's gotta be better than PSYCHO CIRCUS. Man, that was a letdown. Does anyone still listen to that anymore? It was more like Psycho Choke-us! or Sicko Jokes-on-us! ha ha ha! Oh, I'm just kiddin'... It wasn't that bad... but the next one is gonna be more of an old school Rock & Roll record... At least that's what Gene said about it so far.... Rock On & Rock Steady. Peace.
