Now I hope this is something You'll really like. Classic R&B and Soul

Ok We've all named our Favorite Rock, Pop and Heavy metal bands. Now lets go a little deeper. Let's try naming your favorite classic R&B/Soul song/artist and what were you doing when you first heard this song. My favorite Soul song is Wildfire by New Birth. My parents were having one of their famous card parties when I first heard this song. And I was picking the pockets of drunken, passed out family members. While the sober people were slow dancing.

Aren't they The Friends Of Distinction?

Although "Goin' In Circles" & "Love Or Let Me Be Lonely" have a place in my heart (and CD changer), I think their version of Grazin' In The Grass" is fantastic. Just keeping up with that song takes the breath away.

Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose - "Treat Her Like A Lady"

Fave lyric: "You know you can't treat a woman mean."
Fave thing about the song: Everything!

Oooh yes, mr. Otis Redding (I've been lovin' you too long) that is a good one. Slow and soulful. I agree with you if6was9. And my mother has all of Aretha's albums. She won't let me borrow them.

My mom was a big fan. A life taken away far too early. What a talent.

My father does the funniest James Brown imitation. (Its still funny) My mother had the biggest crush Marvin Gaye and Barry White (and I did too). I remember whenever my mother played Barry White (my favorite Barry White song is "I can't believe that you love me) the kids were sent to our grandmother's house and the next thing I know is my mom's pregnant...go figure.
