Too Repetitive!

I just recently resubscribed to cable after a 3 year hiatus, specifically to get VH1 Classic again.  The first few days were excellent, but now after 2 weeks, this is what I've come to be irritated by:

1) Any episode of 120 Minutes, Metal Mania, or Totally 80's has been playing pretty much the same playlist each show, but in slightly different order.  There are TONS of videos they could show besides the 'standards'.  Occassionally, they'll throw us a nugget or 2 of something obscure, but rarely.  Lets just say, I am really sick of that Dio video for "Rainbow in the Dark"; XTC "Dear God"; and A Flock Of Seagulls: "I Ran".

2) Throwing in the classic/current motif in these series... I understand... BUT... whats with playing the current video more than once during an episode??? I am really sick of the new Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Bruce Springsteen, Blondie,  and REM (surprisingly, I've only caught the new Duran Duran once, but the rest of these I've seen like 10 million times already!)

3) Whats with all the commercials?? There used to be very few, and now they have them run in long blocks and its always crap for sexual enhancement or Vonage!

4) Ummm... whats with the movies and TV shows? What a waste of programming time!  Thats what every other channel is for!  Its starting to resemble regular VH1, MTV and MTV2 which are all absolutely nausiating! I remember when MTV2 started (and it was called M2), it was awesome... much in the vein of what VH1 classic once was, but they played new and old videos with no theme.  It was random and always a surprise.  Now its absolute garbage!  VH1 Classic is still playing videos, but with no imagination! Its too robotic!!

I'm sure I'll come across more annoyances, but thats my inital beef after my hiatus... its starting to become clear that there was a good reason I didn't subscribe to any cable service before!

Whoa, whoa, whoa, Eddie Trunk is no longer with VH1 Classic and don't blame him for the mess that is called Metal Mania, since the channel went through some personal changes last year and since Eddie left, this show has been losing viewers left and right. My problem with Metal Mania is the following and what needs to be done the right way...

1.Stop showing countless repeats of certain videos, such as Maiden's "Run To The Hills", Dio's "Holy Diver", Dokken's "Into The Fire".In the case of Maiden, since late Febuary, only two other Maiden videos have been played besides "Run To The Hills" and "The Trooper" and they are "Flight Of Icras" and "Wrathchild 81".

During the three and four telecasts, stop showing video blocks of certain groups such as Kiss, Scorpions, Dokken, Motley Crue, Dio.Damn, it's taking away other bands on getting their videos played for christ's sake..enough is enough already with this ****.

3.Stop playing bands who are "NOT" metal..Bon Jovi, Triumph, The Cult

4.And most importantly, the lack and disrespect of thrash metal. This channel needs to show more thrash metal besides Megadeth, Metallica and Anthrax.Last night's four hour episode showed only one thrash video and that was Megadeth's "No More Mr.Nice Guy" and how pathetic this show was last night.

Clearly it appears to me, that whomever is programming the videos for Metal Mania, doesn't know much about metal at all and really needs to be removed from this show and have someone take over and offer viewers a wide selection of metal videos to choose from.

When Eddie Trunk was one VH1 Clasic, Metal Mania was a great show and didn't show repeats, video blocks and showed a lot of thrash videos and that's just the type of show we need again. It bothers me a lot that we can't complain or write to the channel, since they don't want to be bothered with complaints from viewers about these shows.

This is probably me, but I'm thinking that they could also probably squeeze in more videos if they quit doing that cartoon vignette crap in-between videos and commercials.

Yea, yea, I get it. It's metal. Cars, chicks, skulls, blah, blah. Just show me the videos and I *don't* mean 2 different versions of 'No One Like You' in the same night!

Thank GOD!! I'm not the only feeling this way.

For what it's worth..because I'd like to believe VH1C believes in their viewers, and that they check their message boards too...(lol)..I'd like to direct the following to their viewer relations department.

Please...please..for the love pete...dig up the MTV HeadBangers Ball tapes, from the 80s, and do a copy and paste. If that's too hard, just ask here for play lists.

Playing "Another Thing Coming", "Turbo Lover", "Breaking the Law", "Mystery", "Rainbow in the Dark", "Holy Diver", "Rhythm of Love", "Big City Nights", "No One Like You", "Rock You Like A Hurricane", "Run to the Hills", "Dream Warriors", "Wild Child", and "Screaming in the Night" every broadcast of Metal Mania is just SAD!!! That's how predictable it's become.

There's a whole world of heavy metal/rock videos outside the ones above. They're just waiting to be played. They're crying out..."play me" "play me". (lol)

Do the right thing. Fire Eddie Trunk, or whoever is behind the video blocks, and hire someone that doesn't own a Scoprions or Judas Priest album.

Thank you. :)

Umm..k.. while typing this.. I'm now seeing "Bark at the Moon" for the 2nd time tonight. While, I like the live version at VH1 Honors, the original was shown earlier. I rest my case.

This is probably necro-posting, but I'd give my eyeteeth for VH1 Classic to never, ever, EVER play Iron Maiden's 'Run to the Hills', Kiss' 'Lick It Up', or Dokken's 'Dream Warriors'.

500 videos between these 3 bands and this is all they play! :(

Gimme more Priest and Megadeth! :D

The bottom line is that VH1 Classic has sucked for the last year and a half. Most video channels add videos and phase out the older ones after they've been on for a while maybe playing them a few times a month. This pathetic channel just keeps playing the same videos over and over. Classic/Current is a joke, again the same videos over and over. Hey VH1 Classic why don't you play "Wanted Dead Or Alive," "Owner Of A Lonely Heart," "Freeway Of Love," "Where The Streets Have No Name," and "Run To The Hills" a few million more times so we can get more sick of them. Bring back The Vault 3 times a week like it used to be to appease your new music video starved viewers.

Well...in response to "VH1 Classic Student", VH1 Classic didn't start showing movies, Classic/Current (wtf?!?! BOOOOO!!!!!!), commercials, and the same 20 videos over and over again until the past 2 years or so. Before, it was an AWESOME station, catering to old school rockers like myself who likes to see rare and obscure rock videos without all the commercials and movies (which personally, I can live without....that's what video stores are for!). I used to be totally ADDICTED to VH1 Classic when it first came out, but now I rarely watch it since it went to hell with all the b.s. programming.

It's VH1 Classic, what else do you expect them to show?
